HOLE 1

Master the 558-Yard Opening Challenge at Saginaw Country Club

The opening hole at Saginaw Country Club is the longest hole on the course at 558 yards, making it a true 3 shot hole for most players. A ball that finds the relatively generous fairway off the tee will leave you with a second shot that will make you think about the pond natural areas just off the left side of the fairway. 3 bunkers surround a large sloped green that will challenge you to avoid the false front while still staying below the hole.

HOLE 2

Navigating the 337-Yard Second Hole at Saginaw Country Club

The second hole is the shortest par 4 on the front line at 337 yards. With the left side guarded by a large tree, many players can carry the fairway bunker on the right side, leaving only a short iron or wedge to the green. With 1 of the largest greens on the course, you’ll have a great opportunity for birdie if your approach shot can find the area where the pin is that day.

HOLE 3

Tackling the Challenging 366-Yard Third Hole at Saginaw Country Club

The 3rd hole is one of the tightest and most difficult holes on the course. The entire right side of the 366 yard hole is out of bounds. And with 2 fairway bunkers about 250 yards off the tee, many players choose an iron or hybrid to control their tee shot. One of the smallest and most sloped greens on the course is surrounded by 2 bunkers, which forces you to be both accurate and, most importantly, below the hole.

Mastering the 127-Yard Fourth Hole at Saginaw Country Club

The 4th hole is the shortest par 3 at only 127 yards, but the green is protected by 2 large bunkers which have to be carried for many of the traditional pin positions.

HOLE 5

Navigating the 358-Yard Fifth Hole at Saginaw Country Club

The 358 yard 5th hole is a true risk reward opportunity. With out of bounds on the right and water and play on the left, players can either play conservatively off the tee to the wide part of the fairway or can hit driver, leaving only a short iron or wedge to the green. Aggressive players are rewarded by a relatively flat green guarded by only a single bunker.

HOLE 6

Navigating the Challenging 363-Yard 6th Hole: A Test of Skill and Strategy

The 363 yard 6th hole is a challenging 1 without a bounce down the right side and can favor a draw or fade depending on which tee box is used. The 2 fairway bunkers are in play off the tee even for the longest hitters. The 6th screen is slightly elevated, guarded by 3 bunkers, and features a false front that tests both your approach and putting stroke.

HOLE 7

Mastering the 154-Yard 7th Hole: A Test of Precision and Control

The 154 yard 7th hole rewards players who have good distance control and accuracy. 3 well placed bunkers and a sloping green reward only the most precise shots with a good birdie opportunity.

HOLE 8

Strategize for Success on the 518-Yard Par 5 8th Hole: Risk and Reward Await

The wide fairway on the 518 yard par 5 8th hole is a welcome sight after many of the SCC’s tight driving holes. Long hitters have a risky opportunity to reach the green in 2, but most drives will require a strategically placed layup, which avoids the bunkers on the right and the water to the left. Any approach to the green must avoid the creek added in 1994 and the ponds that surround this picturesque green complex.

HOLE 9

Conquering the 415-Yard 9th Hole: A Lengthy Challenge Before the Turn

The 9th hole is the longest par 4 on the course at 415 yards. Drives that find the generous fairway will have a mid or long iron approach to a 2 tiered green guarded by 3 well positioned bunkers. Most players are happy to make par here before heading across the bridge to the back 9.
