The 10th hole is a relatively straightforward par 3 at 157 yards. 2 bunkers await errant tee shots on the left, and a back to front sloping green rewards players who stay below the hole.
The 11th is one of Saginaw Country Club’s signature holes. At 353 yards, your first task off the tee is avoiding the massive tree in the center of the fairway. Once past that, your next challenge is hitting your approach to an angled green with water in front and a bunker ready to collect anything that goes long. With a tough green that slopes to the water, par is a great score here.
The 3rd hole is one of the tightest and most difficult holes on the course. The entire right side of the 366 yard hole is out of bounds. And with 2 fairway bunkers about 250 yards off the tee, many players choose an iron or hybrid to control their tee shot. One of the smallest and most sloped greens on the course is surrounded by 2 bunkers, which forces you to be both accurate and, most importantly, below the hole.
The 13th hole is Saginaw Country Club’s longest par 3 measuring 183 yards. Cut through trees, your tee shot requires accuracy as you approach a distinct 2 tiered green guarded by large bunkers on each side.
The 333 yard 14th hole is one of the widest fairways on the course, which should be a relief to most players. That feeling changes quickly as the 2 bunkers and steep drop off the back of the 14th leave no room for error. Staying below the hole is key here with the big back to front slope of the green.
The 363 yard 15th hole is one where accuracy off the tee is necessary. A bunker and large trees guard the left side of the hole, so a drive down the right side of the fairway is preferred. 2 bunkers guard a green that rewards players who are able to stay below the hole.
The 395 yard 16th hole marks a return to the outside of the course that features out of bounds down the entire right side. Longer hitters can carry the well positioned fairway bunker leading to a relatively flat green surrounded by 3 bunkers. Two good shots here can lead to a great birdie opportunity.
The 17th hole is the final par 5 on the course and is an exciting challenge to all players at 452 yards. Without a bounce down the right side, many will aim at the fairway bunker as a safe option. More aggressive players give themselves a great opportunity to reach the screen in 2, but it comes with a risk with water surrounding the front left of the green. Many matches are won and lost on this green because of the opportunities for both high and low scores.
The final hole at the Saginaw Country Club is the par 4 18th measuring 401 yards. Favoring a fade off the tee, a drive in the fairway is a must if you wanna score on this closing hole. Well placed mounts in the fairway make punches from the rough difficult, so a shot in the fairway leaves a great approach to our Michigan green. The Great Lakes bunkers surround the mitten green and provide a great finish to year round at the Saginaw Country Club.
